“Confidence ZEN” is a Next-Generation flagship speaker to pose a question to the world that inherits the genealogy of “Confidence”, which is the first BEWITH brand product launched in 2002 and is now presented to the world as the new Confidence for the 2020s by harnessing all the technology and experience we have accumulated in the past 21 years. “Confidence ZEN”, the first full model change in the series after 21 years, was developed with the aim of bringing out the true power of the materials as they should be “ZEN (as it is)” by selecting only the best conceivable materials and by adopting a straightforward design that adheres to acoustic ideals. While following the distinctive configuration of a 3-way system made of the same material from the previous model, based on the premise of a full multi-system with digital processing, which has become commonplace in today's car audio scene, everything from the basic design to the materials used has been reviewed and optimized. Three models have been completed. The first is the 5cm wide-range tweeter “ZEN 50PPC”, which pursues the possibility of precise directivity control through the use of a PPC (Polar Pattern Control) cone. The other two are the “ZEN 130” 13cm mid-woofer and the “ZEN 180” 18cm sub-woofer, whose low-frequency reproduction limits have been dramatically expanded by increasing the magnetic circuit capacity. Our goal was nothing short of the very best car speakers in the world. With the “ZEN Ensemble”, a full 3-way set, at the head, the “ZEN 50PPC”, “ZEN 130”, and “ZEN 180” are available as a single item* so that you can freely combine them into a simple 2-way system or a 2-way + subwoofer 3D system. *“ZEN Ensemble” is a set of 6, two each of “ZEN 50PPC”, “ZEN 130” and “ZEN 180”. In addition, “ZEN 50PPC” and “ZEN 130” will be sold in pairs, and “ZEN 180” will be sold in units of one.

In the 20 years since the appearance of the first-generation Confidence, digital processing, which digitally controls time alignment and crossover/equalizer, has become widespread and common in the high-end car audio world. The PPC (Polar Pattern Control, Eccentric cone)" speaker technology that has come to symbolize Confidence is also approaching a time of corresponding evolution. Is this unique technology really beneficial in the age of digital processing? We have spent years testing prototype products in a variety of materials and constructions, with eccentric and round shape cone units of various sizes. As a result, we came to the conclusion that it would be best to use eccentric cone units equipped with PPC technology for the 5cm wide-range tweeter, for which directivity control is of great importance, and to use round shape cone units without eccentricity for the 13cm mid-woofer and 18cm subwoofer to ensure the maximum capacity of the magnetic circuit. In pursuit of the ideal car speaker in the digital processing era, the new "Confidence ZEN" has been reborn with a “PPC x Round shape” system configuration never before, incorporating all the know-how accumulated over the 20-year history of confidence.
“GoldWeave Diaphragm” is used for all units
All units use the newly developed “GoldWeave Diaphragm” that combines ZYLON® (a high-tech fiber from Japan known as the world's strongest fiber) and carbon fiber specially designed for acoustics, which is widely used for high-end speakers, to aim for the goal of a “Perfectly Balanced Sound”. ZYLON® is used for the warp, which has a gorgeous and speedy tone, while the weft is made of audio-specialized carbon fiber, which offers a stable sound with a sense of mass and flexibility in sound quality tuning, and they are knitted in a 50:50 ratio. To maximize the qualities of each material, the additives and adhesives tried not to use any colorant for a clear and natural finish. This diaphragm with the best balance of extremely fast sound propagation speed, high stiffness, flat frequency response, and an excellent S/N feeling, symbolizes the future of BEWITH sound creation. * “ZYLON” is a registered trademark of TOYOBO Co., Ltd. “GoldWeave” is proprietary material of BEWITH using ZYLON®.
”SSS (Solid/Stable/Silent) Frame” machined from a Lump of Solid Brass
The SSS (Solid/Stable/Silent) frame, machined one by one from a lump of solid brass, symbolizes design in the orthodox method of “Confidence ZEN”, which pursues the acoustic ideal. Brass has excellent sound matching with the “GoldWeave Diaphragm”, and is the most suitable material for precision machining, moreover it has a high specific gravity (to the extent that install ability is not compromised). This distinctive frame is carefully machined from solid brass in a way that does not stress the material and is the driving force behind the overwhelming sense of energy and surprisingly deep S/N feeling at every volume range. While inheriting the excellent fundamental design of each model in the previous Confidence series, the frame shape of the new series has been completely redesigned. The front frame section has been made twice as thick as before, achieving enhanced rigidity and reduced resonance while meticulously pursuing acoustic balance. Additionally, a unique matte clear coating, infused with fine brass powder, has been applied to prevent deterioration of acoustic characteristics and surface discoloration* while respecting the distinctive appearance of solid brass. * Due to prioritizing acoustic characteristics and using only unprocessed or low-processed materials, the color tone and texture may change over time.
”HD (Heavy Duty) Terminals” - Enabling the Most Perfect Connection in Car Speakers' History
The brand-new "HD (Heavy Duty) Terminals," adopted in both "ZEN 130" and "ZEN 180," will undoubtedly enable the most complete and robust wiring connections in the history of car speakers. The included plug, consisting of a total of four components, allows the Y-lug attached cable to be securely and firmly connected without any looseness. Furthermore, by turning the knob after inserting the plug into the speaker-side terminal, the tip of the plug expands within the terminal, ensuring a robust crimping between the plug's tip and the inner wall of the terminal. The included plug is crafted from solid brass material, similar to the "SSS frame" of the speaker, and all conductive surfaces are plated with gold. Additionally, the speaker-side terminal is designed to be compatible with widely adopted banana plugs, allowing users to connect their preferred commercially available banana plugs if desired.
Handcrafted Ornament Plates, One by One
The ornament plates on the rear of each unit are specially handcrafted for Confidence ZEN by highly skilled Japanese craftsmen. These custom-made plates are meticulously crafted from stainless steel sheets, cut into circular shapes, and coated with a black lacquer finish to create a deep glossy appearance. On the surface, the BEWITH symbol and text are beautifully printed using pure gold-infused paint. The simple design evokes the image of the iconic "8-hole" pattern inherited from previous Confidence models, expressing the world of the new Confidence ZEN.
